Overview

Alistair McKechnie is a partner in the London office at Paul Hastings. He specialises in the infrastructure finance and acquisition finance sectors.

Mr. McKechnie has a wide range of experience representing both sponsors and some of Europe’s largest financial institutions in connection with the financing of infrastructure assets.

  • Advised VINCI Airports (“VINCI”), the world’s leading private airports operator, on the financing aspects of its acquisition of the majority shareholding in Edinburgh Airport Limited, the company that owns Edinburgh Airport, for circa £1.27 billion
  • Advised the lender and the agent on the recapitalisation of Energy Infrastructure Partners’ (EIP) minority interest in Boralex, one of France’s largest renewables platforms, with more than one gigawatt of generation capacity across wind and solar plants
  • Advised the arrangers, global coordinators, bookrunners, lenders, agent, onshore and offshore security agent, and hedge counterparties on the financing for the acquisition by Actis, a global investor in sustainable infrastructure, and certain co-investors, of a newly carved-out tower portfolio from Telekom Srbija, a leading telecommunications operator in the CEE region
  • Advised the lenders and the agent on the refinancing of Phoenix Energy Group Ltd’s bank debt facilities
  • Advising Ciner Glass and Kew Soda (WE Soda group companies) in relation to its bridge facility for the construction of a bottling plant in Belgium
  • The acquisition financing of VTG by a consortium and the refinancing of acquisition facilities by means of a multi-sourced common debt platform
  • The financing of growth facilities for atNorth
  • The refinancing of Infrareal's debt facilities by means of a multi-sourced common debt platform
