Former Department of Labor Lawyer Tammy Daub Joins Paul Hastings
June 08, 2016
Washington, D.C. -- Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Tammy Daub has joined the firm as of counsel in the Employment Law practice, based in Washington, D.C. She joins the firm from the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, where she worked in the Civil Rights and Labor Management Division. Ms. Daub will join Paul Hastings’ nationally recognized Federal Contractor Compliance Group, with practice leaders in its New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Los Angeles offices, focused on representing federal contractors in their dealings with the Department of Labor.
Ms. Daub most recently served as a Senior Attorney in the Office of the Solicitor at DOL. In that role, she provided advice and represented the Department on regulatory, policy, and enforcement matters for various DOL agencies, including the Department's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. She has experience with the non-discrimination, affirmative action and whistleblower statutes, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which are enforced by DOL and that affect contractor and non-contractor employers nationwide.
“With more than 16 new sets of regulations and, literally, thousands of pages of new requirements on federal contractors, Tammy’s experience at the DOL will be invaluable to our clients,” said Patrick Shea, global chair of the Employment practice. “Tammy brings DC insight to both our lawyers and our clients,” he added.
There also is growing pressure from increased Defense Contract Audit Agency and inspector general oversight, which means federal contractors must act immediately to ensure compliance. The hot button issues of gender pay equity and the soon-to-be-issued final guidance under The Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order are two areas in which Ms. Daub has focused.
“I am very excited to join Paul Hastings’ stellar employment legal team at this time of heightened attention to the issues of federal contractor compliance, workplace non-discrimination and whistleblower protection,” said Ms. Daub. “I have enjoyed my time at the Office of the Solicitor but look forward to returning to private practice and bringing my substantive experience, seasoned advice and litigation skills to bear on the challenges faced by Paul Hastings’ broad and diverse client base.”
At Paul Hastings, our purpose is clear — to help our clients and people navigate new paths to growth. With a strong presence throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., Paul Hastings is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative global law firms.
