Gary Giampetruzzi Named Government Investigations Attorney of the Year by LMG Life Sciences

September 09, 2022

Gary F. GiampetruzziNew York – Paul Hastings LLP partner Gary Giampetruzzi, Chair of the Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Practice and Vice-Chair of the Global Investigations and White Collar Practice, was named Government Investigations Attorney of the Year at the 2022 LMG Life Sciences Awards ceremony last night.

“I’m proud to receive this honor from LMG Life Sciences,” said Giampetruzzi. “Being selected by this highly-respected organization as the Government Investigations Attorney of the Year is very meaningful on a personal level, of course, but is also a true testament of the hard work our entire team puts into every matter and the partnership and successes we’ve achieved for our trusted clients over the past year and beyond.”

Some of Giampetruzzi’s recent successes include representing a leading rare disease company in high-profile FCPA cases before the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and creating extensive enhancements to its global ABAC/FCPA compliance program, and multiple matters and declinations in connection with healthcare enforcement inquiries by U.S. Attorney’s Offices and other federal and state authorities. Further, Giampetruzzi and the combined legal and consulting team he leads have also assisted global biotech and multinational pharmaceutical powerhouses in a variety of internal investigations and compliance program assessments and enhancements.

As the longtime former head of government investigations at Pfizer and with approximately 25 years in the sector, Giampetruzzi possesses particularly deep experience in life sciences, representing many of the world’s most prominent biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. He routinely advises on compliance matters and represents corporations in high-profile multi-jurisdictional, federal, and state investigations, including those involving federal and state False Claims Act (qui tam suits) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

This is the 10th year of the LMG Life Sciences Awards, in which winning practitioners and teams across the United States and Canada represent the best in regulatory, corporate, intellectual property and litigation. Giampetruzzi has been previously recognized by LMG as a Life Sciences Star and a leading practitioner by Chambers USA, Legal 500, Law360 and The National Law Journal. The firm’s life sciences and investigations practices have been previously honored by Chambers USA, Legal 500, Law360, and Global Investigations Review.
