Overview

Matthew Honig is an associate in the Employment Law Department of Paul Hastings’ San Diego office. His practice focuses on litigation and counseling on a wide range of labor and employment issues including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wage and hour claims.

Matthew regularly works with Fortune 500 and emerging growth companies across industries such as finance, telecommunications, entertainment, sports media, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and manufacturing.

His litigation experience ranges from leading a multifirm team of associates in complex harassment and discrimination matters to second-chairing trials. Matthew also regularly counsels clients on complex employment and compliance issues to minimize legal exposure and provides training to managers and employees on various issues.

Matthew takes time to give back to the community by serving as a member of the office’s Pro Bono Committee and assisting nonprofits with their employment law concerns.

Education

Mr. Honig received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law where he was selected for the Hale Moot Court Honors program and later served on the program’s executive board. While in law school, Mr. Honig worked in the employment law department of a major international entertainment and media company.

Mr. Honig earned his bachelor’s degrees, cum laude, in History and European Studies from UC Irvine, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. Mr. Honig was selected by department faculty as the top graduate in the European Studies major for his graduating class.
