Jonathan Ulrich is Of Counsel in the International Arbitration and Complex Litigation and Arbitration practices of leading global law firm Paul Hastings, based in the Washington, DC office.

Mr. Ulrich is a seasoned advocate with nearly two decades of experience advising multinational corporations, international organizations, and sovereigns in high-stakes, cross-border disputes. He has advised on some of the most high-profile international arbitration cases in the field, as reflected in coverage in Global Arbitration Review and major news publications.

He has advised on multinational and multilingual disputes across every major geographic region of the world. He works with clients from a wide range of industries, such as financial services, energy, infrastructure, mining, manufacturing and oil and gas, as well as a range of sovereign-related issues.

His international arbitration experience encompasses investment treaty disputes and commercial arbitration matters, and ancillary proceedings. He has participated in cases before major arbitral institutions around the world, including ICSID, PCA, ICC, UNCITRAL, VIAC, and AAA.

His litigation experience includes the representation of plaintiffs and defendants at both the trial and appellate levels, with a focus on international commercial disputes, sovereign immunity issues, and arbitral award enforcement.

Mr. Ulrich has a broad range of leadership and project management experience as an attorney, buttressed by experience in the US military and in large-scale disaster relief operations as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. He complements his international practice with a strong commitment to public service, with a particular focus on pro bono initiatives for military veterans. For his service to veterans, Jonathan has been recognized by The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program (TVC), a leading national organization, as a TVC Volunteer Inspiring Pro.
