Overview

Ashiq Aziz is an associate in the Energy & Infrastructure practice group. His practice focuses on advising lenders, banks, syndication agents, funds, export credit agencies, and other financial institutions as well as sponsors, borrowers, multi-national corporations, governments, public institutions, and other investors in the development and financing of infrastructure and energy projects in the United States, Southeast Asia and internationally.

  • Note purchasers and bank lenders on an approximately $200 million senior secured note issuance and approximately $90 million senior secured revolving credit facility for Tillman Networks in connection with a network build agreement for a nationwide wireless communications platform for first responders and public safety agencies
  • Construction financings for numerous data centers throughout the United States, including Innovation, Circuit, Ashburn, Megawatt, Titan, Sunrise and Manassas 
  • Noteholders in the $750 million financing for Nexus Pipeline System, consisting of an approximately 578 miles interstate natural gas pipeline system which includes greenfield pipelines of approximately 256 miles and approximately 322 miles of leased capacity on the Texas Eastern, DTE Gas & Vector Pipelines, with capacity of 1.4 bcf/day installed and 3 compressor facilities indirectly owned and/or operated by Enbridge, Inc. and DT Midstream, Inc.
  • Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Royal Bank of Canada, Barclays, and Macquarie Capital, as lead arrangers, in connection with a financing related to the acquisition of 3,950 MW of generation resources in the Northeastern United States by Helix Generation, LLC, an affiliate of LS Power Equity Advisors, LLC, from TransCanada Corporation. The portfolio consists of four generating facilities: the 2,480 MW Ravenswood facility in New York, the 778 MW Ironwood facility in Pennsylvania, the 560 MW Ocean State Power facility in Rhode Island and the 132 MW Kibby Wind facility in Maine
  • MUFG Union Bank as sole syndication agent, sole lead arranger, sole bookrunner and administrative agent in connection with the $246.5 million financing for the acquisition by SJ Power Holdings of the Tracy, Hanford and Henrietta electrical generating facilities, with a combined generating capacity of approximately 523 MW, located in California

  • ING Capital LLC as Administrative Agent in connection with the $365 million refinancing of Carville Energy LLC’s credit facilities previously entered into for LS Power’s indirect asset acquisition of approximately 2,430 MW of generation resources in the Southeastern United States
  • Goldman Sachs as Lead Arranger of a Term Loan B refinancing of an approximately $447 million senior secured credit facility related to St. Joseph Energy Center, a nameplate 700 MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired electric generation facility located in Indiana
  • ING Capital, as Coordinating Lead Arranger and Sole Bookrunner, and BNP Paribas, MUFG, SunTrust Bank, Credit Agricole, Bank of Montreal, CIT Bank, Norddeutsche Landesbank Gironzentrale and Seimens Financial Services, as Joint Lead Arrangers, in connection with the $260 million senior secured financing provided to Ocean State Power LLC, comprised of a $230 million term facility and $30 million revolving facility (with an L/C facility option)
  • United States DOT, acting through the Federal Highway Administration, in connection with the $87.7 million financing of Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority’s (“Sound Transit”) Operations and Maintenance Facility East Project
  • The commercial and development banks with the Enel Green Power portfolio project financing of three solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Mexico -- Don Jose, Villanueva I and Villanueva III -- with an aggregate project value of approximately $1 billion
