Overview
Alex Kosonog is an associate in the Structured Credit practice at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s London office. Mr. Kosonog’s practice focuses on complex OTC derivative and structured finance transactions across all major asset classes, with a particular focus on strategic private credit financing structures through the use of TRS, repo and repack structures.
Mr. Kosonog routinely advises on hedging aspects of asset finance, project finance, securitisation and covered bond transactions, and on transactions effecting funding through derivative instruments.
Mr. Kosonog advises a broad range of clients including financial institutions, asset managers, sovereigns and others.
Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Mr. Kosonog worked at another leading international firm in London and was seconded to a leading investment bank.

- Advised on various total return swaps in respect of bonds and loans (including term, RCF and PIK loans)
- Represented a leading investment bank on a number of strategic private credit financings through the use of repo and repack structures
- Advised several private equity funds in implementation of swap-based leverage to facilitate acquisition transactions
- Represented a number of investment banks on structured repurchase and stock lending transactions, including leverage financing for CLO investment vehicle, and repos over portfolios of loans
- Advised issuers, sponsors, originators and hedge providers on securitisation of residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate and commercial loans on complex IRS and FX hedging strategies
