Overview

Zara Shore is an associate in the Employment Law Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Shore has extensive experience advising companies on their most complex labor and employment needs and specializes in high-stakes employment litigation and counseling. She has significant experience in wage and hour class and collective actions; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation counseling and litigation; executive agreements and disputes; and employee communications and crisis management. She further has considerable experience in advising on labor and employment issues arising in complex corporate transactions. Ms. Shore defends clients in matters pending in state and federal court and agencies and has experience advising and representing clients across multiple industries, including finance, technology, energy, hospitality, retail, and entertainment, among others.

Ms. Shore received her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2017, where she served as an editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform and as a student attorney in the Michigan Innocence Clinic and the Criminal Appellate Clinic. She is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

  • Represented multiple energy, construction, entertainment, hospitality, and retail companies in the successful resolution of major putative class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and applicable state wage and hour law.
  • Defended a technology company against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation by a former employee, resulting in dismissal of all claims.
  • Led litigation prevention audit of employment classification processes for an intelligence company.
  • Conducted internal investigations for multiple Fortune 500 clients into allegations of violations of company policy and applicable law.
  • Represented financial companies in the successful resolution of their executive disputes, in both arbitration and state and federal court.
