Three Paul Hastings Lawyers Recognized among Daily Journal’s Top Labor & Employment Lawyers

Los Angeles – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the Daily Journal named three Paul Hastings partners to its 2021 list of Top Labor & Employment Lawyers. Employment Law Department partners Elena Baca, Donna Melby, and Cameron W. Fox were chosen on the basis of their cutting-edge legal work in the field.
The publication noted Ms. Baca’s leadership of a broader conversations on the future of work, as well as critical issues like the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on employers and employees alike. She was noted for handling of an inflammatory complaint alleging retaliation, discrimination, and defamation against a global talent agency.
Ms. Melby was praised for her broad experience as a litigator, of which employment law is a specialty. The publication noted an enduring ten-year litigation in which she secured the dismissal of 23 cases brought against her client on the basis of race discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, conspiracy, and civil rights.
Ms. Fox was noted for her successful representation of Google and the University of Southern California. The publication discussed how she successfully defended Google against a claim to collect $1.3 million in “catalyst” attorneys fees, whereby Plaintiffs had alleged they supposedly caused Google to make changes to its policies.
These individual accolades come on the heels of a series of prominent recognitions. Most recently, Paul Hastings’ Employment Law Department was recognized by Chambers USA as Labor & Employment Firm of the Year for 2021.
