The National Law Journal Recognizes Gary Giampetruzzi as a Life Sciences Trailblazer
March 01, 2021
New York – Paul Hastings LLP litigation partner Gary Giampetruzzi has been named a “Life Sciences Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal.
The prestigious accolade recognizes practitioners who are “agents of change” and “made significant marks on the practice, policy and technological advancements in their sector.” Gary, who chairs the firm’s global Life Sciences group, is acclaimed by the publication for his development of “innovative U.S.-focused and global compliance programs and measures for clients.”
The profile notes Gary’s in-house career as Assistant General Counsel at Pfizer, where he lead the company’s global investigations and assisted the development of novel regulatory compliance programs “that would become the model for many life sciences companies.” He also developed the concept of proactive market review approaches to developing compliance programs – an innovation now widely incorporated into government resolutions and cited in DOJ’s guide to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Additionally, Gary’s profile highlights Paul Hastings’ growing team, noting it is stocked with former in‑house experts and prosecutors and is evolving to “a much more integrated approach, with lawyers, consultants and forensics.”
This evolution saw the Life Sciences practice at Paul Hastings grow significantly in the last 12 months, with the launch of the Life Sciences Consulting Group in June 2020, the launch of the FDA regulatory practice in August 2020, and the expansion of the consulting group with five industry veterans in December 2020.
At Paul Hastings, our purpose is clear—to help our clients and people navigate new paths to growth. With a strong presence throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America and the U.S., Paul Hastings is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative global law firms.
