Ten Paul Hastings Attorneys Named to Variety's 2021 Legal Impact Report

LOS ANGELES (April 12, 2021) – Attorneys from Paul Hastings LLP were recognized for their significant contributions to the entertainment industry in the recently released Variety Legal Impact Report. In total, 10 attorneys were highlighted in the report: Craig Emanuel, Tamerlin Godley, David Hernand, Erik Hyman, Steve Marenberg, Mickey Mayerson, Sean Monroe, Bo Pearl, Stephen Saltzman, and Susan Williams.

Variety’s annual report honors the entertainment industry’s top attorneys, executives, managers and financiers. Paul Hastings attorneys were recognized for their integral work across multiple sectors:

Litigation

Partners Steve Marenberg,  Bo Pearl, and Tamerlin Godley were highlighted for their work handling complex disputes on behalf of leading studios, distributors, producers, independent game companies, and high-profile talent. The team was noted for matters involving streaming rights, defamation, copyright and trademark, as well as independent investigations for clients such as Legendary Entertainment, NBCUniversal Media, Ubisoft, UTA, Walt Disney Co., WarnerMedia (Warner Bros., Turner and HBO), Warner Bros., Warner Music Group.

Transactional

Partners Craig Emanuel, David Hernand, Erik Hyman, Mickey Meyerson, Sean Monroe, Stephen Saltzman, and Susan Williams were featured for their work handling deals on behalf of clients including Celebrands, Indian Paintbrush, Lumistella, producer Ryan Murphy, New Slate Ventures, QCode, , writer/director Jac Schaeffer, SpottedRisk, Tribune Entertainment, Truist Bank, Vine Alternative Investments, Vudi, and director George C. Wolfe. The team was also cited for their international efforts on behalf of clients such South Korea’s CJ Entertainment, China’s Huayi Bros. International, and Germany’s Constantin Films.

Paul Hastings’ Entertainment and Media practice is recognized by Chambers and Partners and is routinely named among the most influential in the industry.  The firm recently added prominent M&A and entertainment and media transactional lawyer Sean Monroe as a partner based in Century City.
