Paul Hastings Wins Six “Deal of the Year” Awards at LatinFinance’s Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards 2023

Paul Hastings LLP received six “Deal of the Year” awards at LatinFinance’s Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards 2023. The firm was recognized in the following categories:
Airport Financing of the Year; Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Latin America – Lima Airport Expansion Financing
Paul Hastings advised Lima Airport Partners (LAP) in the approximately US$1.8 billion expansion of the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, one of the largest financings in Latin America in recent years. Paul Hastings also advised LAP and its sponsors on the US$450 million bridge financing for the project in September 2020.
Bond of the Year – Innergex
Paul Hastings advised the note purchasers and letter of credit providers in Innergex Renewable Energy’s US$803.1 million financing. The financing consisted of a US$710 million issuance of green bonds maturing in 2036 and a US$93.1 million letter of credit facility. The deal is among the largest private placements in Latin America in recent history. In addition to refinancing the portfolio’s debt, the financing provides capital for the construction of Innergex’s first battery energy storage project in Chile.
Digital Infrastructure Financing of the Year – Aligned Data Centers ODATA Acquisition Financing
Paul Hastings advised SMBC, MUFG, Deutsche Bank, Nomura, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole, and Natixis, as lenders, in a $1.225 billion term loan and delayed draw loan facility to finance Aligned Data Centers’ acquisition of ODATA, a data center service provider offering scalable, reliable, and flexible IT infrastructure in Latin America, from Patria Investments. The deal involved multiple jurisdictions throughout Latin America, including Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.
Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Andes; Road Financing of the Year – Vía 40 Express 4G Toll Road Financing
Paul Hastings advised Vía 40 Express, VINCI Highways, and Constructora Conconcreto in one of Colombia's largest financial transactions in the infrastructure sector, the long-term financing of Vía 40 Express for 2,602 billion Colombian pesos (approx. US$578 million). This multi-source financing includes a combination of COP-denominated, UVR-denominated and synthetic COP tranches provided by a diverse group of local development banks, international commercial banks and international and locally-managed infrastructure debt funds.
