Paul Hastings Team Named American Lawyer ‘Litigator of the Week’ Runner-Up for Major ADA Win for Village of Itasca

A Paul Hastings Investigations and White Collar Defense team earned runner-up in The American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” recognitions for securing a victory for the Village of Itasca, Illinois, after the Department of Justice attempted to intervene in an Americans With Disabilities Act lawsuit claiming the village engaged in unlawful disability discrimination in denying a zoning request for a nonprofit that sought to open a treatment facility for substance abuse. U.S. District for the Northern District of Illinois Judge Steven Seeger held that the federal government “has no skin in the game” and denied the DOJ’s motion.

Investigations and White Collar Defense partner Renato Mariotti led the Paul Hastings team, which also included partner Igor Timofeyev and associates Holly Campbell and Maggie DePoy.
