Paul Hastings Advised on Korea Ocean Business Corporation’s Issuance of $600 Million Dual-Tranche Notes

Paul Hastings LLP acted as sole international counsel in connection with Korea Ocean Business Corporation (“KOBC”)’s issuance of $300 million 5.375% Senior Unsecured Notes due in 2027 and $300 million 5.250% Senior Unsecured Notes due in 2029 under its Medium Term Note Program on May 2, 2024. The offering was conducted in reliance on Regulation S of the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and the Notes were listed on Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.
BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, ING Bank N.V., Singapore Branch, J.P. Morgan Securities plc and Standard Chartered Bank acted as joint lead managers and joint bookrunners, and KB Securities Co., Ltd. acted as a co-manager.
Paul Hastings also assisted KOBC and dealers with the update of KOBC’s $5 billion Medium Term Note Program, which was completed on April 9, 2024.
KOBC is a statutory juridical corporation established under the Korea Ocean Business Corporation Act of the Republic of Korea and acts as the flagship government-owned policy finance institution for domestic shipping companies. KOBC is vested with the unique mandate to provide stable source of funding to Korean shipping companies and makes various forms of investment to promote the overall growth and stability of the maritime transport industry.
