Top Antitrust Specialist Joins Paul Hastings in Washington, D.C

Washington, D.C. (October 20, 2008) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading international law firm, announced today that Michael Cohen, formerly of Heller Ehrman LLP, has joined Paul Hastings as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office.

Michael is a talented antitrust litigator with diverse expertise, who, along with the recent addition of antitrust counsel Hart Holden in Washington, D.C. will further bolster Paul Hastings cross-border antitrust practice, said Jamie Wareham, Global Chair of Paul Hastings Litigation Department. Michaels addition will allow us to capitalize on our existing antitrust talent and to serve the complex litigation needs of the worlds largest companies.

Mr. Cohens practice focuses on criminal and civil antitrust litigation, as well as merger clearance and civil conduct investigations before the United States Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission. He serves as antitrust counsel for a diverse array of clients including Del Monte Foods, Symantec Corporation and Western Refining, which Mr. Cohen successfully defended through trial and appeal of Westerns acquisition of Giant Industries. Prior to Heller Ehrman, Mr. Cohen served in private practice and served as an Assistant Special Prosecutor investigating and prosecuting criminal wrongdoing related to the failure of major financial institutions.
