SC Capital Partners Exceeds Capital Raise Target for Asia Pacific Core-Plus Real Estate Fund

New York – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the Firm served as legal counsel to SC Capital Partners in the formation of SC Core Fund, SC Capital Partners’ first core-plus private equity real estate fund. SC Core Fund exceeded its target capital raise of $400 million, securing $451.5 million in aggregate capital commitments to be invested in commercial properties across the Asia Pacific region. The Fund, consisting of both Cayman Islands and Luxembourg investment vehicles, will be operated as a closed-end fund for up to an initial three-year period, at which time it is structured to become an open-end fund available to new investors.
Real Estate partner Lawrence Hass led the Paul Hastings team, which also included partner Thomas Rao; and associates Mark Morrison and Justin Samson.
Paul Hastings has previously represented Singapore-based SC Capital Partners in the formation of a number of funds, including SC Capital’s Real Estate Capital Partners IV, which raised $850 million and for which the Firm was recognized as Asia Law Firm of the Year (Fund Formation) by PERE. The new SC Core Fund represents a global investor base comprised primarily of public and private pension funds.
