Paul Hastings Strengthens its Competition Practice with Addition of Leading Washington Antitrust Partner

Washington, DC (March 1, 2011) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that C. Scott Hataway has joined the firms antitrust practice. Mr. Hataway focuses his practice on competition and trade regulation matters, and his dedicated experience includes prior service as a trial attorney in the United States Department of Justices Antitrust Division. He is based in the firms Washington, DC office.

Scott adds considerable depth and experience to our growing antitrust practice, said Bill Sullivan, global chair of Paul Hastings litigation department. His demonstrated track record leading merger cases in such industries as defense, information technology and energy infrastructure as well as his unique perspective on the government process will provide clients with the valuable expertise they need as they navigate business in a rapidly changing intercontinental environment.

Mr. Hataway joins Paul Hastings from the antitrust practice at Howrey. His areas of expertise include merger, civil non-merger and criminal antitrust counseling and advocacy before the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and international enforcement agencies. Mr. Hataway also practices before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). He earned his JD in 2000 from Washington and Lee University School of Law, cum laude, and his BA, summa cum laude, from Southwest Baptist University in 1997.
