June 15, 2010
New York, NY (June 15, 2010) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce that Mary Dollarhide, a partner in the firms Employment Practice and office chair of the Employment Practice in San Diego, has been elected as a Fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers.
Ms. Dollarhide will be inducted on November 6 in Chicago and will join the ranks of 21 other Paul Hastings partners who are Fellows of the College.
Membership is by invitation only, honoring those lawyers who have demonstrated to their peers, the bar, bench and public through long performance related to the practice of labor and employment law that they represent the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards, the highest level of character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership, a commitment to fostering and furthering the objectives of the College, sustained, exceptionally high-quality services to clients, bar, bench and public, and significant evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing and/or published writings on labor and employment law.
Candidates for the College must be nominated by members outside of their own firms, and recommended by references that include counsel for plaintiffs/union and for employers, as well as neutrals that fill out detailed evaluation forms. A credentials committee in each circuit screens the many nominees each year and makes recommendations to a national Board that narrows the group to a small number of new admits each year. All nominees must have completed 20 years of practice in the field of labor and employment law.
Ms. Dollarhide received her B.A. degree, with Distinction, from Occidental College in 1979. She received her J.D. degree at the University of Southern California Law Center in 1988, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Southern California Law Review.
She is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, San Diego chapter, and Executive Secretary of the Hon. Clifford Wallace American Inn of Court. Ms. Dollarhide previously served as management co-chair of the National Planning Committee for the EEO Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association.
