Paul Hastings Named 2011 Beacon of Justice Winner by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) for Pro Bono Appellate Work

Washington, DC (November 29, 2011) - Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm was named a winner of the 2011 Beacon of Justice Awards by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) for the firms pro bono investment in appellate litigation matters in 2011. The NLADA, founded in 1911, is Americas oldest and largest nonprofit association devoted to excellence in the delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford counsel.

The award will be presented at the NLADA Exemplar Award Dinner on December 6th at Union Station in Washington, DC. Also being honored at the event are: Brad Smith, General Counsel and Executive Vice President at Microsoft with the 2011 NLADA Exemplar Award; John Grisham, renown author, with the NLADA Centennial Award for Justice through Literature; and Wendy Pollack of the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law and Sam Dalton, founding chairman of the Jefferson Parish Indigent Defender Board in Louisiana with the 2011 Kutak-Dodds Prizes.
