Paul Hastings Further Strengthens Global Compliance & Disputes and Global Banking & Payment Systems Practice Groups with Addition of New Partner

Washington, DC - Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Behnam Dayanim has joined the firms Global Compliance & Disputes and Global Banking & Payment Systems practice groups as a partner in the firms Washington D.C. office. Mr. Dayanim, a leading litigation and regulatory attorney, joins the firm from Axinn Veltrop Harkrider where he co-chaired the Litigation and Regulatory Group.
Before leaving the firm in 2010, Behnam was with Paul Hastings for 16 years, most recently as co-chair of our Privacy and Information Security and Advertising practices. The addition of Behnam will continue the growth of our Litigation practice and his expertise will further develop our regulatory and transactional work on a global platform, said William Sullivan, the global chair of the Paul Hastings Litigation Department. Mr. Dayanims arrival continues the expansion of the Litigation Department in the firms Washington, D.C. office, which recently hired MJ Moltenbrey and Scott Hataway. Mr. Dayanim also further builds upon the firms Global Banking & Payment Systems practice, which San Francisco partner Thomas Brown recently joined. We are very pleased to have Behnam back at the firm, Mr. Sullivan said. He has built an international reputation for his experience advising clients through the regulatory framework as the Internet and social gaming industries have evolved. Our clients with payment systems and gaming practices will benefit from his expertise. He also has worked extensively in the trade controls area and adds further depth and experience to our practice.
Mr. Dayanim counsels clients on regulatory compliance and handles internal and regulatory investigations. His clients include some of the worlds largest internet gambling companies and the top social networking enterprises. He also works extensively with companies involved in technology transfers and sanctions compliance and with major consumer products brands in advising on advertising and promotions. His practice concentrates on payment systems, online gambling and gaming, data privacy, advertising-related disputes, and trade sanctions and export control matters. He has been listed in Chambers USA, Chambers Global, the Legal 500, and International Who's Who Legal, and was honored as a BTI Client Service All-Star in 2009.
