Paul Hastings advises Westmont and Cadim on 350m € Hotel Acquisition
London, May 5, 2006 – Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, an international law firm, announced today its role as advisor to Westmont and Cadim in the acquisition and financing of a portfolio of 24 hotels in seven European countries acquired from Intercontinental Hotels Group. The acquisition was valued at 350m€.
Andrew Armfelt said: "This was a complex cross border acquisition with cross-collateralised mortgage-backed financing; a tremendous amount of detail in seven jurisdictions required extensive coordination with our local counsel and the teams from the firms representing the seller and lender".
The legal team based in Paris was comprised of lead partner Andrew Armfelt together with Alexandra Plain and Gregory Camus with Carol Saba leading up the financing and refinancing of the portfolio.
With a significant number of the hotels being located in Germany, the German aspects of the transaction were handled by Paul Hastings' London based German practice group: Lead partner Dr. Geza Toth-Feher, together with Robert Abt and Melanie Schumann.
