May 16, 2011
Paris, France (May 16, 2011) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm advised a group of investors on the landmark sale of the Front de Parc building in Clichy, next to Paris.
This transaction has been handled as a sale of company. The Front de Parc building is partially classified as a historical monument and was partially built by Gustave Eiffel in the early 1910s. The purchaser, Catalyst Capital, is aiming to significantly redevelop the building. The transaction is being partially financed by Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG.
Members of Paul Hastings team advised on the acquisition of this same building in 2006, and Paul Hastings handled the transactional, restructuring and tax aspects of this new transaction.
David Lacaze, Paul Hastings partner who led the team comments: this transaction demonstrates the renaissance of complex investment transactions in a post-crisis context in France, and we were delighted to advise the seller on this landmark deal.
The Paul Hastings team was led by partner David Lacaze, assisted by Isabelle Augais-Mariani and Guillaume Boitel. Partner Allard de Waal, assisted by Laurent Ragot advised on tax aspects on the transaction.
