Paul Hastings Adds Technology Focused Intellectual Property Partner in Los Angeles as Firm Continues to Build on Strength of Practice
September 26, 2014
Los Angeles, CA - Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Andrew Grossman, a technology focused IP lawyer, has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property practice as a partner in Los Angeles. He was previously a partner at Wilmer Hale.
“Andrew is a key part of the strategy for our Litigation practice, and the intellectual property practice in particular. He brings great experience and deep client relationships that will build on our existing strengths and help accelerate our growth,” said Barry Sher, chair of the Litigation practice at Paul Hastings. “We have been making strategic investments across our Litigation practice, particularly in important areas such as IP and White Collar and Internal Investigations, and in key sectors such as technology and life sciences,” he added.
“Our clients are facing increasingly complex IP challenges due to aggressive global competition, converging technologies, and an unsettled legislative landscape,” said Jeff Randall, co-chair of the Intellectual Property practice. “Andrew brings a range of valuable IP litigation experience, representing both marquee companies and high-powered startups, that technology companies in both the U.S. and in Asia can leverage to their advantage,” he added.
Mr. Grossman’s practice focuses on representing technology-focused clients in intellectual property litigation, primarily in the electronics, semiconductor, and software industries. He has represented clients in federal courts across the country in all aspects of IP litigation, including jury trials and appeals. Mr. Grossman also has substantial experience advising clients on IP strategies in connection with transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Mr. Grossman's areas of technical experience include smartphones, servers, software, databases, microprocessors, GPS, wireless communications, semiconductors, medical devices, data encoding, encryption, copy protection, and power supplies.
Mr. Grossman’s addition follows the recent expansion of the firm’s Patent Office practice with post-grant proceedings partners Naveen Modi and Joseph Palys joining the Washington DC office.
