Edelman, formerly at Dechert LLP, has joined as Of Counsel in the firm's litigation department, resident in the Palo Alto office. Edelman's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on patent infringement and trade secrets cases.

Edelman has been involved in a series of high profile disputes between technology companies in the Silicon Valley, and has extensive experience in successfully handling complex patent and trade secret litigation in venues across the country. In a recent highly publicized trade secret matter, Edelman was successful in utilizing computer forensics to obtain heavy discovery sanctions against a publicly traded company for spoliation of evidence, which resulted in an extremely favorable settlement for his client.

Edelman is a summa cum laude graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law, and has authored "Traffix Devices v. Marketing Displays: The Supreme Court's Failure to Resolve the Conflict Between Patent Law and Trade Dress Law" in the ABA's Intellectual Property Journal. He has given presentations on a wide range of legal issues, including claim construction in patent proceedings, the effective drafting of patent claims, the role of electronic discovery in intellectual property litigation, and the use of computer forensics.
