Paul Hastings Adds Former Assistant U.S. Attorney to Growing Investigations and White Collar Defense Practice
January 04, 2017
New York -- Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Jane H. Yoon has joined the firm as of counsel in the Investigations and White Collar Defense practice, and will be based in New York. She joins from the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, where she worked in the Health Care and Government Fraud Unit.
During her tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Yoon served in the Health Care and Government Fraud Unit, where she investigated and prosecuted complex health care fraud cases and other schemes involving individual and corporate targets, including pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, MRI facilities, and outpatient facilities. She managed significant multi-agency, parallel investigations into violations of the federal anti-kickback statute, Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and the Internal Revenue Code. Ms. Yoon led investigations of several pharmaceutical and medical device companies for false statements and violations of the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, the anti-kickback statute, and FCPA.
“Jane’s extensive knowledge and experience in investigating and prosecuting health care fraud and corruption matters adds further depth to our robust Investigations and White Collar Defense practice, which has grown steadily over the last few years,” said Ken Breen, global chair of the Investigations and White Collar Defense practice. “Her addition enhances our leading global practice and allows us to serve our clients even better,” he added.
Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Yoon was an attorney in private practice with substantial experience conducting internal investigations on behalf of domestic and foreign corporations and responding to regulatory investigations.
“With fraud in health care garnering historic governmental attention, it’s a great time to join Paul Hastings’ leading Investigations and White Collar Defense practice,” said Ms. Yoon. “I look forward to applying the skills and experience from my time in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in my return to private practice, advising Paul Hastings’ client base.”
The arrival of Ms. Yoon at Paul Hastings continues steady growth in the firm’s leading Investigations and White Collar Defense practice, and follows the additions of Thomas Zaccaro and Nicolas Morgan.
