MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates to Acquire DigitalGlobe for US$2.4 Billion

New York – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm advised RBC Capital Markets and BofA Merrill Lynch as lead arrangers on financing for the acquisition of DigitalGlobe, Inc. by MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., valued at C$3.1 billion (US$2.4 billion). DigitalGlobe is a leading global provider of high-resolution Earth-imagery products and services.

The Paul Hastings team was led by partner Michael Baker and also included of counsel Shekhar Kumar and associates Jason Ewart, Katherine Forer and Maciej Zielnik.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals, as well as approval by both MDA and DigitalGlobe shareholders. It is expected to close in the second half of 2017.
