Former UBS Counsel Joins Paul Hastings in New York

New York, New York (July 6, 2010) Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Alan Brudner has joined the firm as a partner in the Litigation Department. He is based in the firms New York office.

Mr. Brudner joins the firm from UBS Investment Bank, where he served as Head of Litigation and Investigations for the Americas, overseeing all of the Investment Banks litigation and enforcement matters in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. In this position, Mr. Brudner supervised the handling and resolution of government and regulatory investigations, internal investigations, lawsuits, arbitrations and disputes in a broad range of subject areas.

As the fallout from the global crisis continues, top-tier financial services firms are experiencing increased challenges from prosecutors, regulators and legislators, said Jamie Wareham, Global Chair of Paul Hastings Litigation Department. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Brudner served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he investigated and prosecuted white-collar matters as a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force and in the Major Crimes Unit. He also clerked for a United States District Judge and practiced law with both a global firm and a boutique white-collar litigation firm. He graduated with honors from New York University School of Law and Vassar College.
