August 10, 2020
San Diego and Shanghai – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that high-profile, life sciences compliance thought leader and litigator Haiyan Tang has left her recent in-house position as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of a leading private equity healthcare fund in China and rejoined the firm as a partner in the Investigations and White Collar Defense practice, based in San Diego. Tang will relocate to Shanghai in the near term.
“With the current global pandemic and new economic environment, the strategic considerations affecting clients’ litigation decisions are shifting, and they need experienced litigators to help them navigate complex investigations and disputes,” said Seth Zachary, Chairman of Paul Hastings. “Haiyan’s return further bolsters our government enforcement, investigations, compliance and litigation capabilities.”
Tang observed, “Building on my earlier experience at a major multinational pharmaceutical company, this chief legal and compliance officer experience, working as closely as possible with the business on risk management, will only enable me and the team to serve our clients that much better.” “And the Paul Hastings global platform and capabilities, culture of inclusion and collaboration, and spirit of innovation provide huge advantages to clients,” said Tang. “I am excited to rejoin my Paul Hastings colleagues and work with so many outstanding lawyers around the globe,” she added.
