Agencies Announce Intent to Rescind 2023 Community Reinvestment Act Final Rule

The Federal Reserve Board, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced, in light of pending litigation, their intent to issue a proposal to both rescind the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) final rule issued in October 2023 and reinstate the CRA framework that existed prior to the October 2023 final rule.

CFPB Offers Regulatory Relief for Small Loan Providers

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is announcing today that, with respect to the Payday, Vehicle Title, and Certain High-Cost Installment Loans Regulation, it will not prioritize enforcement or supervision actions with regard to any penalties or fines associated with the Payment Withdrawal provisions and the Payment Disclosure provisions once they become operative on March 30, 2025.

Mortgage rates are now expected to end 2025 and 2026 at 6.3 percent and 6.2 percent, respectively, downward revisions of three-tenths for each, according to the March 2025 commentary from the Fannie Mae Economic and Strategic Research Group.
