Changes to Aetna’s Pharmacy Program

Starting July 1, 2017, Aetna has made changes to their pharmacy plan and updated their specialty drug lists. Brand-name and generic drugs are now included in the drug list, along with drug coverage reviews which are starting to apply to some drugs, and ending for other drugs. These coverage reviews are: prior authorization, quantity limits, and step therapy (if applicable).

These changes may affect the prescription drugs you take. You can check the prescription list here.

Please keep in mind all of this information is subject to change throughout the year. All changes will be made on a quarterly basis: 10/1, 1/1, 4/1, and 7/1.
