Paul Hastings Investigations and White Collar Defense partner Ronak D. Desai has been named to Global Investigation Review’s (GIR) 40 Under 40 for 2024.

The fourth annual GIR 40 Under 40 list recognizes the next generation of accomplished young investigations specialists.

In 2023, Mr. Desai was named The American Lawyer’s “Young Lawyer of the Year.” He has been recognized as a “rising star” by Law360, The National Law Journal, The Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the American Bar Association and The South Asian Bar Association in recent years. 

Mr. Desai leads the Firm’s Congressional Investigations practice and is ranked by Chambers and Partners for his work in this arena.

In his interview with GIR, Mr. Desai is noted saying, the growth of congressional investigation practices within law firms is a trend that “promises to remain relevant” for the next four years. He said that the investigations’ increasing frequency and complexity will boost demand for specialized legal expertise to navigate them. Mr. Desai goes on to say, “successfully managing a congressional investigation requires a unique blend of skills. Legal practitioners must not only be versed in the intricacies of the law but also adept in political navigation, public relations, and media management.” He’s observed a “likely noticeable shift” in the demographics of the practitioners working on congressional investigations: they are younger and younger, which he believes will enrich the practice area in coming years.
