Mergers & Acquisitions: Private Companies Deal of the Year – Aligned buys ODATA from Patria and Cyrus One

Paul Hastings represented SMBC, MUFG, Deutsche Bank, Nomura, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole, and Natixis, as lenders, in a $1.225 billion term loan and delayed draw loan facility to finance Aligned Data Centers’ acquisition of ODATA, a data center service provider offering scalable, reliable, and flexible IT infrastructure in Latin America, from Patria Investments. The deal involved multiple jurisdictions throughout Latin America, including Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.

Project Finance: Infrastructure Deal of the Year – Patria desalination plants get US$883 million credit line in Chile

Paul Hastings advised the lenders in connection with the $883 million term loan and letter of credit facilities to finance two water infrastructure projects being developed by Patria in Chile, including the 1,000 l/s Aconcagua desalination plant in the Valparaiso region and the associated San Isidro Quilapilun aqueduct in the Valparaiso and Metropolitana region. The transaction is the first-ever financing in Chile for a multi-client desalination project.
