Paul Hastings Wins Three “Deal of the Year” Awards at The M&A Advisor’s International M&A Awards 2023

Paul Hastings LLP received three “Deal of the Year” awards at The M&A Advisor’s 14th Annual International M&A Awards 2023. The firm was recognized in the following categories:

Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year (Over $250M)PetroChoice/Moove

Paul Hastings advised Moove, a leading global producer and distributor of lubricants and base oils, in its acquisition of PetroChoice Lubrication Solutions from Golden Gate Capital for US$479 million. Moove is a subsidiary of Cosan S.A., one of Brazil’s largest business groups, with investments in energy and logistics.

M&A Deal of the Year (Over $1B)Meridian/SD Biosensor/SJL Partners

Paul Hastings advised SD Biosensor and SJL Partners in their acquisition of Meridian Bioscience, Inc. (NASDAQ:VIVO), a leading global provider of diagnostic testing solutions and life science raw materials. Meridian stock will no longer be traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market and its shareholders will have the right to receive $34 per share. The company will continue to operate as an independent entity.

Restructuring Deal of the Year (Over $10B) – Intelsat

Paul Hastings advised an ad hoc group of holders of convertible notes issued by Intelsat, a multinational satellite and communications company with over $14.6 billion in total liabilities across numerous entities, in its chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
