Paul Hastings Intellectual Property partners Matthias Kamber and Lisa Nguyen have been named among Daily Journal’s “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” 2024.

Mr. Kamber is noted for his work advising Google in both the Singular Computing trial, a case that presented complex issues surrounding non-infringement, invalidity and damages related to Google's proprietary machine learning and artificial intelligence chips, and the Arendi trial, a case involving technology in Android devices that recognize and act on data like phone numbers and email addresses where Mr. Kamber secured a complete defense verdict on grounds of non-infringement, anticipation and obviousness.

Ms. Nguyen is noted for having had successfully argued and won three motions to dismiss in the past year based on §101, which deals with subject matter eligibility, demonstrating her commitment to defending her clients against meritless nuisance suits. Ms. Nguyen also led a victorious team effort for ResMed, a pioneer in sleep disorder treatment. Her team invalidated 141 claims across seven patents through inter partes reviews, a significant win against an opponent like New York University.

The Daily Journal’s annual list recognizes the top intellectual property lawyers in various areas of intellectual property law.
