Jennifer S. Baldocchi Once Again Recognized Among Daily Journal’s Top Trade Secrets Lawyers 2024

Paul Hastings Chair of International Employee Mobility and Trade Secrets practice and Co-Vice Chair of the Employment Department, Jennifer S. Baldocchi, has been named among Daily Journal’s Top Trade Secret Lawyers 2024. This is the third time that Jennifer has been recognized on this list.

Jennifer, who has practiced law for almost 30 years, has always been interested in questions pertaining to information ownership. Her practice covers noncompete covenants, unfair competition and fiduciary duties and she focuses on access to and theft of trade secrets and employee mobility.

Jennifer recently filed two misappropriation cases involving the theft of valuable trade secrets by high-level executives who were intent on starting competing enterprises. In one of the matters, she led the team representing Coincident, a cryptocurrency hedge fund, in misappropriation of trade secrets claims. Her team defeated the former executive’s motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction seeking their reinstatement and filed counterclaims on behalf of Coincident. Jennifer’s team claimed that during the defendant’s employment as manager and CEO, he launched a competing fund of funds and stole trade secrets and other sensitive documents, including client lists and technical information. Jennifer and her team also defeated multiple summary judgment motions filed by the defendant.
