At the IFLR Europe Awards in London on Thursday 3 April 2014, Paul Hastings was recognized for its work on two winning transactions: The CVC Credit Partners European Opportunities IPO, which was named Equity Deal of the Year; and the lender-led restructuring of French water company Saur, which was named Restructuring Deal of the Year. IFLR commented that 2014 “was a standout year for Paul Hastings’ European restructuring group”. At the IFLR Americas Awards in New York the previous week, the firm was awarded a trophy for ‘M&A Deal of the Year’ for Shuanghui International’s $7.1 billion acquisition of Smithfield Foods, the largest-ever acquisition of a U.S. company by a Chinese company.
