Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe Report

Paul Hastings received three commendations in the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Europe Report in the following categories:

• Managing Complexity and Scale – In the first major oil company restructuring outside the US since the industry downturn, the firm helped align interests of 31,000-plus shareholders and two creditor groups to enable Gulf Keystone Petroleum to restructure its debt.

• New Markets and Capital – The firm has helped several Swiss companies navigate obstacles that prevented access to regulated Euronext exchanges, paving the way for others to follow.

• Rule of Law and Access to Justice – The firm successfully argued that costs incurred by third parties in pro bono legal cases in European Courts are recoverable. Funds received are donated to their non-profit clients to help them further their work.

The FT report has become one of the top legal rankings in Europe and around the world. Over the past decade, it has assessed legal innovation in over 50 different countries from over 400 unique law firms and over 400 company in-house legal departments.
