As part of this substantive and strategic relationship, Paul Hastings joined with the Council of the Americas to host an event in our Washington, D.C., office focused on Central America. The event featured remarks by partner Jonathan C. Hamilton and a keynote by the Mayor of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Ricardo Quiñónez Lemus. Council of the Americas Vice President Eric Farnsworth announced the release of a new report, “A New Agenda for Central America Resilience,” emphasizing trade, investment, energy and infrastructure and the relationship between economic development, immigration and security. The event also featured a panel discussion including representatives from the Inter-American Development Bank and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration. The event was organized in partnership with Young Professionals of the Americas, a COA initiative for young professionals to connect around the latest trends in the Americas.
“Paul Hastings’ partners have deep experience with the Council of the Americas and share a strong focus on key sectors across the Americas,” commented Hamilton. “We were pleased to host an event focused on Central America as well as the future of international trade and investment treaties in the region.”
