Diala Minott Named "Most Innovative Legal Practitioner" at Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe 2021

October 15, 2021

London – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today the Financial Times has again named the firm as one of the most innovative firms in Europe, in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe 2021 report.

Partner Diala Minott was named the “Most Innovative Legal Practitioner”. This award recognizes the lawyer who is leading innovation within the firm and/or practice group and has shown courage to change the way legal or business work is done, created new standards and delivered outstanding outcomes for clients. The citation reads:

  • “Diala Minott has overcome more obstacles than most lawyers — including dealing with clients who would not speak to a woman when she was working on deals in the Middle East, earlier in her career. Minott is now head of the UK credit funds practice at Paul Hastings in London. She advised on, and drafted, laws for Gibraltar last year to make it a competitive jurisdiction for funds post-Brexit. Minott’s team is experimenting with tech. For example, it is building a platform with private equity firm Pantheon Ventures that aims to smooth the investor onboarding process. She has also led at the firm on the creation of funds investing in women-led businesses and ESG-rated products. With investment manager PGIM, Minott launched a mentorship programme for young women from disadvantaged backgrounds.”

Diala Minott was also invited by the Financial Times as one of the speakers in the panel discussion “Moving the market forward”, where she shared her views on the role of legal practitioners amidst economic turmoil in helping industries drive forward with innovation and embracing more sustainable business practices.

Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe 2021 is a rankings report and awards for lawyers based in the Europe region with an emphasis on originality, leadership and impact. The awards ceremony was held virtually on October 14, 2021.
