Paul Hastings Advises Banks Arranging $550 Million Financing for Carlyle Group’s Acquisition of Southeast PowerGen

New York, NY- Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that it represented the banks arranging $550 million in financing for The Carlyle Group’s acquisition of a controlling interest in Southeast PowerGen, LLC, an operator of six natural gas-fired power plants in Georgia, from ArcLight Capital Partners and GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund.

Paul Hastings represented Morgan Stanley Senior Funding, Inc. as administrative agent and Morgan Stanley Senior Funding and other banks as joint lead arrangers and joint bookrunners in connection with a $480 million term loan facility and a $70.5 million revolving credit facility for Southeast PowerGen.

Leveraged Finance partner John Cobb led the Paul Hastings team, which also included Energy partner William DeGrandis, Global Projects partner Tim Callahan, Real Estate partner Gregory Spitzer, of counsel Sanjay Thapar, and associates Danny Choi, Candice Castaneda and Andrew Jenkinson.
