Paul Hastings Global Chair of Employment Elena Baca and Litigation associate Nicole Lueddeke have been named to the Daily Journal’s 2024 “Top Women Lawyers” list.

Ms. Baca is noted for leading the Paul Hastings team in representing Activision Blizzard in a high-profile case involving overlapping government investigations and litigation. The government litigation included gender discrimination claims related to pay and promotions, harassment, and related retaliation claims, spanning more than a decade. After two years of intense litigation, Baca's team achieved a favorable settlement. Beyond the main complaint, her team also helped to coordinate, support and lead an array of both internal and external teams defending against enforcement and derivative lawsuits, an SEC ESG Taskforce investigation, shareholder proposals and investor demands.

Ms. Lueddeke is noted for leading a large cross-border Paul Hastings team in representing a multibillion-dollar, multinational medical technology company based in the U.S. under investigation by the SEC for possible Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations in its operations in Japan. Ms. Lueddeke is also noted for managing another matter for a U.S. biotechnology company under investigation by the Department of Justice over possible False Claims Act violations related to cybersecurity representations made to government purchasers.
