Overview

Melissa Schwartz is an attorney in the Global Finance practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Schwartz concentrates her practice in all aspects of commercial lending, including troubled debt restructurings and workouts. She represents a variety of institutional lenders and finance companies, as well as private credit and specialty lenders, in a variety of complex commercial finance transactions. Her experience includes working capital credit facilities (asset-based and cash flow), acquisition financings, recapitalizations, multi-currency facilities, cross-border transactions, intercreditor arrangements (1st lien/2nd lien, split collateral and unitranche transactions), and subordination agreements. Ms. Schwartz also regularly represents agent banks and lenders in distressed credit situations, debtor-in-possession financings, and out-of-court restructuring transactions.

 

Ms. Schwartz has industry expertise in a broad array of business sectors, including software, healthcare, restaurants, franchise, retail, logistics, food and agribusiness, wireless communications, broadcasting, publishing, energy, and in-transit inventory.
