Overview

Candice Shang is an associate in the Investigations and White Collar Defense practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Ms. Shang’s practice focuses on matters in white collar defense, internal corporate investigations, anti-corruption compliance programs and international human rights. Ms. Shang has represented individuals and multinational corporations in enforcement matters brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. Attorney’s Offices, U.S. Department of Treasury, and other investigative agencies related to matters involving corruption and fraud, financial irregularities, U.S. sanctions, and False Claims Act violations.

Ms. Shang has worked as part of DOJ-appointed compliance monitor teams and advises corporations on internal compliance issues and global risk assessments related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and international human rights.

Ms. Shang received her law degree from The George Washington University Law School in 2016. During law school, Ms. Shang worked for the U.S. Department of Justice; the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama; served as a member of the Mock Trial Board; and acted as legal advocate in the Family Law Unit of the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia. Ms. Shang graduated cum laude and as a Distinguished Scholar from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Art History.
