Overview
Brian S. Kaewert is a senior associate in the Litigation Department based in the firm's Los Angeles office. Mr. Kaewert focuses his practice on high-stakes civil litigation, internal corporate investigations, and litigation risk counseling.
Mr. Kaewert represents U.S.- and internationally based clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations, including international arbitrations. Mr. Kaewert's clients come from a broad range of industries, including real estate development, oil and gas exploration and production, financial services, media and entertainment, technology, and manufacturing. Mr. Kaewert regularly advises in house counsel and senior executives on litigation risk and strategy. Mr. Kaewert has extensive experience drafting and arguing clients' most critical dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, and negotiating complicated settlement agreements. Mr. Kaewert has also been recognized for his pro bono work, including receiving the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Southern California's Homeless Rights Advocacy Award. He also currently sits on the Leadership Council for Public Counsel.
Mr. Kaewert received his law degree from The George Washington University Law School, graduating Order of the Coif and with high honors. While in law school, he was a member of The George Washington Law Review and represented criminal defendants in Washington, D.C. as a member of the D.C. Law Students in Court clinic. Mr. Kaewert earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, where he was a Presidential Scholar.
