Overview

Brad Dumbacher is an associate in the National Security & International Trade practice based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on U.S. trade controls compliance and national security matters, including reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States ("CFIUS").

Brad has represented domestic and international clients in the defense, energy, healthcare, and technology sectors before CFIUS and assisted in negotiating several national security agreements as well as in establishing related compliance programs. Brad has advised clients on a variety of complex strategic M&A, venture capital, and private equity transactions and related international trade and national security matters, including export controls, sanctions, anti-corruption, and anti-boycott regulations, as well as CFIUS and DCSA reviews. Brad has also advised clients in responding to congressional inquiries, investigations, and related matters.

Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Brad worked as an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm. He also served as a policy advisor in the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Investment Security and as a term law clerk to Federal Magistrate Judge Stephen M. Hyles in the Middle District of Georgia.
