Paul Hastings Represents Applera Corporation in its $195 Million Acquisition of Berkeley HeartLab
San Diego, CA (September 10, 2007) – Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, a leading international law firm, announced today that the firm represented the Celera Group of Applera Corporation in its agreement to acquire Berkeley HeartLab Inc, a cardiovascular healthcare company. The deal is valued at approximately $195 million.
Under the agreement, California-based Berkeley Heartlab will operate as a business unit of Celera.
Mergers & acquisitions partner Deyan Spiridonov led the Paul Hastings team, which included associates Teri O’Brien and Tamara Sampsell. Healthcare partner James Owens advised Applera on regulatory matters for the acquisition.
