Overview
Chris Mangin is a Washington, D.C.-based partner in the Tax practice of Paul Hastings. Chris is widely recognized as a leading authority on tax matters relating to real estate investment trusts (REITs), real estate funds and real estate partnerships.
Consistently ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA, Chris advises REITs, real estate companies and private equity sponsors on IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, real estate fund formations, qualified opportunity zone funds, take-private transactions, dispositions, spin-offs, recapitalizations and issues under the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act. His clients have included Bluerock Homes Trust, Highwoods Properties, NorthStar Realty Finance, TPG RE Finance Trust and WPT Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust.
Chris regularly speaks at conferences on matters relating to REIT taxation. Prior to law school, he spent three years as a certified public accountant at Big Four accounting firms.
