Overview

Cameron A. Brown is an associate in Paul Hastings' Litigation Department and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. He is a trained, generalist litigator, focusing on complex commercial litigation, white-collar defense, regulatory defense, and internal corporate investigations.

Cameron’s litigation experience includes defending against claims of legal malpractice, fraud, breach of contract, fiduciary liability, product liability, employment discrimination or disputes, consumer protection and privacy violations, and intentional, environmental, or mass torts.

He has represented diverse clients in high-stakes state and federal matters, including in arbitration and mediation. Cameron notably served as lead associate from inception through a two-month trial, gaining experience with all litigation stages. He has developed litigation strategy, conducted risk analyses, overseen all discovery phases, led fact and expert depositions, prepared witnesses for trial, drafted and argued motions in court, and collaborated on appeals.

Before joining Paul Hastings in fall 2024, Cameron was a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch. There, he engaged in criminal and civil actions under or involving the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Communications Commission, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He frequently partnered with U.S. Attorney's Offices, DOJ components, federal law enforcement agents, and foreign law enforcement agencies. His prior roles include positions at top D.C. law firms and a clerkship with the Honorable Linda V. Parker, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.

Cameron earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School, receiving the Judge Thelton E. Henderson Prize for his performance in Stanford’s Criminal Defense Clinic. He also holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis, graduating cum laude with a Departmental Citation for Outstanding Academics and Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Outside of work, Cameron is committed to mentoring underrepresented, underprivileged, and diverse students and attorneys through programs such as UC Davis’ Educational Opportunity Program, the TRIALS program, the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Law Program, and Just the Beginning’s Share the Wealth Clerkship Program.

Cameron is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and New York.
