Overview

Alison Lo is an associate based in the Complex Litigation and Arbitration practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's New York office. Alison has a broad complex commercial litigation and arbitration practice, with considerable experience with data privacy class actions, trademark and copyright infringement issues, shareholder/founder disputes and securities and other regulatory agency matters. She has represented individuals and companies across diverse industries, ranging from real estate development and investment, finance, biopharma and energy, to AI and other technologies. Alison has considerable experience litigating high profile, bet-the-company matters—and has argued and secured victories for her clients across the nation's federal and state courts—as well as crisis management, helping her clients resolve issues early to avoid the unnecessary expense, and publicity associated with litigation.

Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Alison was at another major U.S. firm.

  • Represented hedge funds involved in the Gamestop and meme stock trading controversy, resolving inquiries from multiple federal regulatory agencies and successfully dismissing multiple related class actions in federal courts.
  • Led successful Fifth Circuit immigration appeal in Argueta-Hernandez v. Garland, in which the circuit panel granted a rehearing petition, reversed the Court's prior adverse ruling, and vacated the BIA's deportation decision—issuing a published, precedential opinion which had a significant positive impact on immigration case law.
