Recognition of Insolvency Judgments in the UK - The Retreat from Universalism

The UK Supreme Court has handed down its judgment in the much-anticipated Rubin appeal. The Court has pulled English law back from the high points of universal insolvency recognition, deciding that English courts should only recognize overseas insolvency judgments where the relevant court would have had jurisdiction on ordinary civil principles.
